       Gli universitari africani che vivono in Italia e gli studenti di altri nove Paesi collegati via satellite, incontravano Benedetto XVI il 10 ottobre nell’Aula Paolo VI in Vaticano e recitevano un rosario “per l’Africa e con l’Africa”. L’iniziativa, intitolata la “Giornata africana degli universitari”, fu organizzata dall’Ufficio pastorale universitaria del Vicariato di Roma nell’ambito del Sinodo espicopale su Africa che si tiene dal 5 al 25 ottobre.
       Gli studenti, docenti e membri delle comunità universitarie, insieme con le autorità ecclesiastiche, civile e tradizionali di nove Paesi africani (Burkina Faso, Repubblica Democratica di Congo, Egitto, Mozambico, Nigeria, Sud Africa, Sudan, Kenia e Madagascar) venivano collegati via satellite.

       African University students who live in Rome and students from another nine countries connected by satellite, met with Benedict XVI on the 10th of October at the Vatican and recited a rosary "for Africa and with Africa."  The event, entitled "Africa Day for the Universities", was organized by the Pastoral Office for the Universities of the Vicariate of Rome in Paul VI Audience Hall, the site of the episcopal Synod on Africa taking place from October 5 - 25.
       Students, teaches and members of the University communities, together with Church and civic leaders and native peoples from nine African countries (Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Kenya and Madagascar) were connected live by satellite.
